6 max.....great training for fullring.

So I dabbled in 6 max for about 15k hands, up and down, really aggro and involved form of poker. After some thought I decided that I am a full ring player so I continue at the 50nl fr tables. The thing I took away from my time was a great improvement in marginal situations post flop. 6 max forces you to think hands through alot more. Its not the nut pushing that goes in in full ring. How do you feel about calling a reraise with K9?? well if that makes you uncomfortable then stay away from 6 max. the blinds will grind you down and the aggro will eat u up. But if you are looking for some hands on training about hand reading and playing the player, then give 6 max a test drive. The price might be worth the training!

1 year away from the blog

Well that year got away from me.....I have been playing a ton of Poker. Mostly 50nl. Right now I feel that i play my best at that level. It is the combination of the time of day that I play and also the competition that is there. I put in about 50k hands at 100nl for about 1bb/100, but have since switched to 50 nl full time to work on my game there. I am currently at 81k hands at a little over 1.4bb/100. I just came off of a 30k hand downsing that caused me to really reflect on my game. That had a major impact on my winrate. I have since worked on pf aggro, 3betting, and position betting. I have seen a major change in my game for the better. will try to be better a posting. Please leave some feedback if you find anything helpful. I love to go over hands to give views from all angles. Good luck at the tables

How to play QQ preflop

QQ is a trouble hand for a lot of players. They either play it as week as JJ or 1010, or they play it as hard as AA or KK. So which is right? Well that depends. It depends on style, image, table to name a few. There is never one way to play a hand the table and other factors named above usually dictate how a hand "should" be played. Once you have figured out your style you can start to play around with tricky ways of playing it. I might play it soft from early position at some tables, while I will play it aggressive early on others. What ever you do, make sure you pay attention to what the other players are telling you in response to your bets. If they have not played a hand in a while and fire back at you when you raise with QQ then play cautiously. If they are loose callers, then make them pay for the mistakes of playing too loose.

No limit in the low limit..

After a long hiatus I am returning to the nl tables. So far I am about 2k hands in and posting a 7ptbb/100. Running well and glad to be back. So far I am employing a slightly looser style, I am playing a wider range of hands and mixing it up a bit. Probably just a reaction to the new found freedom of NL again. Perhaps the biggest fix to my game is an increased attention to position. Many hands that are not profitable any where else on the table can make money in late position. I would rather have 79 in late position than KJ early.
